No case with this one, but I'll pack it well so that it arrives safely. Everyone that picks it up remarks at how great the neck feels. It's not something I would do, but I don't mind it at all. The back of the neck was sanded at some point by a previous owner, and I have to admit that it feels great. But for whatever reason, the body and neck of these were sprayed in nitro lacquer. Odd that Fender painted these in lacquer because by 1977 they were spraying everything in thick poly. The body is the original black lacquer and it has aged nicely with some weather checking. It holds tune well and is properly intonated. The action is good and it plays very nicely. Some 1959 Precision Basses have no Fender neck dating. The general rule of thumb is that a bass guitar is as old as its newest part. I believe it to be all original although I cannot guarantee it as I bought he bass used years ago, but I have not made any changes to it with the exception of new strings. It was just sitting inside its original chipboard case alone and afraid for decades-until I rescued it.
